This tutorial was written by Ellie for Glitter Geeks. Any similarities to other tutorials is purely coincidental. I wrote this tut for beginners who are unfamiliar with the tools and options in PSP, so those who are familiar with PSP may feel that I am over explaining things. Feel free to skip ahead if that's the case.
Supplies
You will need:
Open Animation Shop and PSP.
In Animation Shop select the glitter you are going to be using.
Press Ctrl + A, then Shift + X on your keyboard. This will select all of the frames and send them to PSP.
In PSP click on the top layer of your glitter in your Layers Palette (Click here to see what your Layers Palette looks like). Press Ctrl +C, then Ctrl + V. This will copy and paste that layer of your glitter as a new image. Repeat this step with the next two layers. Close your original glitter (it will ask you if you want to save the changes... click no. Would you like to update the changes... click no.)
Open up a new image in PSP by clicking this button
I like to start with a big canvas and crop later so these are the settings I use:
Click on the Text Tool and choose your settings. Click here to see my settings for this tutorial. Feel free to experiment with the settings.
Now go to your Materials Palette and click on your foreground. (Click here to see your foreground and background.) When the Materials Properties box comes up select one of the darkest colors from your glitter. The little dropper will show you the colors as you hover over the glitter.
Now click on your background and select the first glitter frame from the dropdown box.
Okay, now click inside your canvas and when the Text Entry box pops up enter your name. (Make sure that Remember Text is checked.) Click Apply.
Now go up to Objects at the top of your browser. Objects > Align > Center in Canvas.
Layers > Convert to Raster Layer.
That's the first layer, we're almost done.
Click on your background in your Materials Palette and choose the next glitter frame. Click on your canvas, apply.
Objects > Align > Center in Canvas.
Layers > Convert to Raster Layer.
One more layer!
Again, click on your background in your Materials Palette and now choose the third glitter frame. Click on your canvas, Apply.
Objects > Align > Center in Canvas.
Layers > Convert to Raster Layer.
Go to your Layers Palette and right click on Raster 1. Delete.
Select your Crop Tool and click and drag on your canvas to make a box around your name. Like this:
Click on the checkmark in your Crop Options toolbar to apply the crop.
File > Save As > name it and save it as an Animation Shop (*.psp) file.
Now to animate it. Open it up in Animation Shop. File > Save > name it and save it as a .gif and YOU ARE DONE!!!
Click this button to see it animated.
Please post your questions, comments, results, etc below! Thanks!
